OsteoInt
In addition to mechanical properties, biocompatibility and infection prevention are also crucial for the long service life of bone implants . In order to improve biointegration and the healing process, bioactive layers with controllable porosity and surface roughness are being developed as part of the OsteoInt project. For this purpose, calcium phosphate nano- and supraparticles are produced and introduced into the layers together with bactericidal metal ions using a high-speed flame spraying process. The new coating systems are being investigated in terms of their degradation, biocompatibility and release kinetics of the metal ions in vitro and in vivo.
