Access-optimized work ability-oriented rehabilitation - ZAR
Background
Rehabilitation measures are often initiated too late or not at all, resulting in missed opportunities for improvement. The longer a chronic illness progresses, the greater the risk of future occupational disability. The ZAR project aims to develop and evaluate a predictive model based on routine data from the statutory health insurance (GKV) to detect early signs of illness and initiate appropriate rehabilitation measures.
Methods
The predictive model will be applied as a pilot among insured persons of the AOK Bayern health insurance for indications of back pain and other intervertebral disc damages. Identified insured persons are randomly offered a rehabilitation measure. A concept for implementation among all stakeholders (e.g., statutory health insurance, statutory pension insurance) will be developed. The developed access procedure will be formatively assessed for its feasibility and practicality, and ultimately for its effectiveness and usefulness in terms of patient-oriented outcomes and health economic parameters by the UKW.
