The global SARS-CoV-2 pandemic poses a particular challenge for employees at the University Hospital of Würzburg. On the one hand, the increased workload and the risk of infection are causing stress. On the other hand, the political measures to combat the pandemic are making everyday life more difficult, e.g. through contact restrictions or closed schools, nurseries and day-care centres. This study systematically recorded the stress experienced by employees of the University Hospital at five measurement points and tracked it over the course of the pandemic (five measurement points between autumn 2020 and autumn 2022). The study also investigated the factors associated with psychological stress and the support services requested by employees. The results should help to reduce stress and optimise support services.
