Rosa Maidhof

Rosa Maria Maidhof is a postdoctoral researcher in the Translational Social Neuroscience Unit at the University Hospital of Würzburg.
She completed her doctorate in 2024 at the University of Vienna, Department of Clinical and Health Psychology, in the research group of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Urs Markus Nater. In her doctoral dissertation, she investigated the effects of music on laboratory-induced pain and the underlying psychobiological mechanisms.
Her current research focuses on the impact of social support on chronic pain. Using smartphone-based assessments in everyday life (Ecological Momentary Assessment, EMA), she examines social interactions and pain experiences in individuals with chronic pain conditions. Additionally, she is developing a smartphone-based daily-life intervention (Ecological Momentary Intervention, EMI) to offer targeted support to persons with chronic pain conditions. Her research aims to generate new insights into the influence of social support on chronic pain and contribute to the further development of individualized treatment approaches.
