Core Facility Mitochondrial Energetics
The Core facility for Mitochondrial Energetics combines different techniques to get a whole picture of single organelle function. This means determination of respiration, redox state and ROS formation as well as its regulatory factors. Our equipment consisting of Clark electrode, fluorescence plate reader and OROBOROS allows us to produce a high yield of data from one single organism and so we can generate a fingerprint-image of this organelle. These methods strongly interplay with data generated from isolated cardiomyocytes. Consequently, the combination with well-established in vivo methods will allow us to understand the systemic relevance of our findings.
