The neurogerontopsychiatric day care clinic
Unique in Germany
The combination of the two specialist areas of psychiatry and neurology makes the neurogerontopsychiatric day care unit unique in Germany. The range of treatment is aimed at people over 60 years of age who suffer from disorders from one of the two specialist areas. Sometimes the transitions are fluid or the disease affects both cognitive and motor skills. This facility is characterised by training and treatment under one roof and in joint group sessions.
Therapeutic spectrum
The neurogerontopsychiatric day clinic focuses on treating patients over 60 years of age with Parkinson's disease and depression. However, other neurological or psychological illnesses in later life are also being treated here.
Registration and schedule
The registration for a therapy place requires a medical referral. An appointment for an outpatient preliminary talk should be made by telephone via the secretary's office.

The day care treatment takes place Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 16:00. Depending on the type and severity of the disorder, treatment lasts between two and six weeks. Lunch is a group activity in the cafeteria. Afterwards there are rest and retreat possibilities. The daily arrival and departure must be organised independently.

Where can you find us?
The neurogerontopsychiatric day care clinic is located on the premises of the Bürgerspital Würzburg and cooperates with the Geriatric Rehabilitation Clinic of the Bürgerspital, which also provides the nursing staff for some supplementary therapies.
