The project leaders, Prof. Nicolas Schlegel, MD, and Dr. Michael Meir from the Surgery Department at the University Hospital Würzburg, will present the new part of Project Z on Chronic Postsurgical Pain (CPSP) in the second funding period of Clinical Research Unit 5001. This project conducts longitudinal clinical observational studies on chronic postsurgical pain following incisional hernia repair to better understand the mechanisms and treatment options for this painful condition.
The project leaders Prof. Martin Kortüm, MD, from the Internal Medicine Department, and Prof. Claudia Sommer, MD, from the Neurology Department, both at the University Hospital Würzburg, will present the new Project 1 for the second funding period of the Clinical Research Unit 5001. The aim of the project is to develop a tool that can predict neuropathies caused by bortezomib and its successor drugs at an early stage. This tool will integrate clinical and genetic data as well as biomarkers that were established in the first funding period.
