Presentation of the New Project Z "Chronic Postsurgical Pain (CPSP)" and Guest Lecture: Treatment with IV Lidocaine Infusions: Gender Differences. Speaker: Dr. Min Liu.

The project leaders, Prof. Nicolas Schlegel, MD, and Dr. Michael Meir from the Surgery Department at the University Hospital Würzburg, will present the new part of Project Z on Chronic Postsurgical Pain (CPSP) in the second funding period of Clinical Research Unit 5001. This project conducts longitudinal clinical observational studies on chronic postsurgical pain following incisional hernia repair to better understand the mechanisms and treatment options for this painful condition.

Dr. Min Liu is a leading expert in pain medicine with a focus on innovative pharmacological treatments. At Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in London, she has been actively involved in clinical research on gender-specific responses to intravenous lidocaine therapy. Her work bridges clinical care and translational science, offering new perspectives in the management of chronic and neuropathic pain.
