Transregional Network for Stroke Intervention with Telemedicine (TRANSIT Stroke)
Treatment spectrum and main areas
- Telestroke network in north-western Bavaria with 11 participating hospitals
- Improvement of stroke care in the rural region north-western Bavaria with a relatively low coverage of stroke units
- Provision of innovative treatment options for the acute phase of stroke (e.g. hemicraniectomy, mechanical thrombectomy)
- Optimization of secondary prevention of ischemic stroke (secondary prevention consultation, neurovascular board)
- Scientific evaluation of the consequences of the networking strategies on quality of stroke care in north-western Bavaria
- Regular training courses with all participating hospitals and involved occupational groups (physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, speech and occupational therapists)
- Further quality assurance measures like establishment of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for physicians and nurses and follow-up of patients in the outpatient sector
