Telestroke network in north-western Bavaria with 11 participating hospitals
Improvement of stroke care in the rural region north-western Bavaria with a relatively low coverage of stroke units
Provision of innovative treatment options for the acute phase of stroke (e.g. hemicraniectomy, mechanical thrombectomy)
Optimization of secondary prevention of ischemic stroke (secondary prevention consultation, neurovascular board)
Scientific evaluation of the consequences of the networking strategies on quality of stroke care in north-western Bavaria
Regular training courses with all participating hospitals and involved occupational groups (physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, speech and occupational therapists)
Further quality assurance measures like establishment of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for physicians and nurses and follow-up of patients in the outpatient sector
