Programs and services
Palliative care has the intention to improve quality of life in patients with advanced critical illness and limited life expectancy by abatement of pain and other symptoms as well as providing psycho-social, spiritual and medical support.
- Patient’s care by a multiprofessional team consisting of physicians and nurses with palliative care education, psycho-oncologists, physiotherapists, social worker, hospice volunteer, pastors, music, art and breathing therapists
- Palliative care ward with 10 single bedrooms, living room and accommodation for family members
- Palliative care consulting team for patients in the different departments of the university clinic
- Outpatient palliative care clinic for patients who are not treated in the hospital but are in need of palliative care counseling or symptom treatment
- Consultation offers for outpatients and their families and for people in mourning
